a. As someone who is quite familiar with border town routes (Nooo... I am not a coyote!) please brown people, please carry your documents. Your stay in the US had not made you white yet, so carry your documents. At one time, I was traveling from Albany to Potsdam (Way Upstate NY) and I was stopped. I had all of my papers labeled and arranged neatly and the official exclaimed that I was well prepared. Uhh.. yeah.
b. Do not make photocopies of official US Documents. Its a violation. The official will understand why you made a copy, but ITS A VIOLATION. On that note, please do make a photocopy. It helps the border agent to verify your status using the document number on the photocopied documents. Secretly, he will thank you that you had your document (either original or photocopied) and will warn you to not make copies and its a violation. I personally do make photocopies. Why? See the first half of my sarcastic write up.
c. Your passport along with visa stamp page is the most important thing a Border agent would want to see. If you go to school in a 50 mile radius, your School ID along with your passport and definitely a copy of I-20 is a must.
d. If you decide not to do any of the above, keep getting pulled over a few times in a week for a month and the next time you do pass by a check post, they will high-five you and let you through.

Thats a good question. Would it still be considered valid if we mailed the documents on Friday so that it reaches them Saturday. They'd still be opening the mail on Monday July 2nd. I have a feeling that would be too late. Any others in the same boat ?

Now a days RFE is very common. I got RFE on sept 2008 even though I am EB2 2006.

You won't have any issue with Indian Emigration officials in India. They are well aware of advanced parole as a means of entry to US.
Thanks for encouraging words. So can you confirm that the reentry to US does not require any other visa if one is carrying I-485 receipt and AP?

EDIT: OK, I've lightened the mid tones a bit, hopefully there's some detail visible in the feathers now. I don't want to make it too light though. Black feathers are difficult...

I did not get a second finger printing notice (yet?). The 485 approval notice said that a biometric appt may be sent or the card will arrive. Just keeping my fingers crossed.

Relax guys dont gang up like that - maybe he believes in himself and will actually fight for his rights unlike many here on IV!
dyekek12 - as you can obviously see from above, there are a lot of frustrated souls out here. You are in the wrong forum to pose such q's - this place is filled with a lot of socially challenged tech grads who sit on their asses the whole day tracking bureacracies and complaining like village bellies & then do nothing about it. Your q is best answered by a college counselor or dept head. Pick a school with a good program and see what their grads are doing. Most grads will happily answer q's for you honestly. There are plenty of websites to do your research on - but approaching it as an eb3/eb2 gateway is bad. All of them are screwed up.

I once worked in the admissions office at a very selective school. Applicants that didn't get selected resorted to such gimmicks (sending cards, presents, flowers to the dean of admissions), not sure what they expected - The dean to feel bad about his/the dept.'s decision and reconsider?
Anyway, one of my responsibilities was to screen the dept. mail, and sort out what was uselss and trash it.
Chances are, that is what will happen to the flowers sent to USCIS.
I don't mean to discourage anyone, but that money ($25-$40) you spend on flowers, could help IV a lot.

I just received a confirmation email that I485 of my wife got approved just a couple of days back. But I myself have not received anything. Its kind of weird because she was my dependent and I was the primary applicant.

Swamy - (with due respect to IV who i totally support in every which way!) but what have u done other than joining a state chapter, contributing $$ to IV and holding signs at the DC rally.?? Is this what ur life has come to now..?? Only to motivate people to join IV..?? How long do u plan on conitnuing to do this.?? Wake up buddy..!! But somebody like dyekek12 who seems to be new to the immigration world - whats the harm in sharing with him options that maybe more practical for him 3-5 years from now.! That does not make sense! Peaople on H4 are not allowed to work, period! Thats how the Visa category is defined. Now, how will one on H4 to work? Enter EAD! So, while EAD allows him/her to work, it changes the Visa status (be it H1 or H4) to AOS. It does not matter if you travel outside or not.
I do not know how you extended your spouse's H4 with the help of the attorney. It is an error on USCIS part, may be because you (or your spouse's employer) have not notified the USCIS about your spouse using the EAD for employment.

I got my H4 stamped first and then applied for H1 while in India. Travelled to US on H4. This is the reason why I cannot work in US without stamping.
I am not too sure if USCIS would ask questions when I apply for h1B again in future through another company, about my not using my previous H1 aprooval for working in US.
What is the validity on the H1 ? Did you get this H1 before you got H4 stamped and before landing in USA on H4 ?
It is not possible to get the stamping on company "B" if you have H1 from company "A".
You can get the stamping done overseas based on the current H1. You can enter US based on that stamping. You are expected to work for that company to transfer teh H1 to a different company. You will be asked to send at least one pay stub (more some times in case of RFE) with your transfer application.

I got this from different website(not sure if I can quote here).
Before going /planning for a perticular consualte, you can email the consulate with a i797 copy asking them to check if it exists in their system. If it doesn't then they will request concerned athorities to make it available in system so that you won't get stuck with PIMS delay. So far I have heard mexico/canada consualte responding to emails positively.
I will be mailing(canada consulate) them soon. Will keep you updated if i hear anything from them. if it works..its indeed a good options for us.:D
